Ok this is about the wands I made over the years.
I have made fore of them so fare and there all uniquely
different from each other. The first two are plain wands
with wavy bits carved in front part of them. As seen in the
photos below. The dog got to the second wand and now
it has mite marks in it.
The first wand is on the left and the second the rite.
I think there made from an apple tree both cut from one long stick.
The first wand is from my inner elbow to the tip of my middle finger.
The second wand is what was left over. The tree had to be cut down
do to it rotting at the base of the tree.
As you can see there are wavy marks in it not deep enough to show up.
I carved it and debarked it with a pocket knife back in 2007. I painted
on minwax stain by hand. I tried to put ceil a peace of my own hair in
the end of the handle of the wand the best I could, but it kind of failed.
So I don't know if the hair is there or not but this wand works the best
out of all the wands I made so fare.
Here is the front of the second wand how you can see the wavy marks on this one
I coted it with polyurethane. You cant see but the other side has the bite marks on it.
Theses are my third and forth wands I made last year in 2018
third on the left and the forth on the rite as you can see its not coated yet.
Both are made from a thorn less honey locusts one branch cut in half to
make both of them from my inner elbow to tip of my middle finger of my right arm.
Both are made from a thorn less honey locusts one branch cut in half to
make both of them from my inner elbow to tip of my middle finger of my right arm.
I had the idea of a rose flower with leafs around it fore the third wand,
but I did a different for the third wand. Then I did the design for the forth wand
instead, the third wand is curved from my inner elbow to my middle finger tip.
So in actual length it is longer if it was straightened, the forth wand is what was left.
Witch ended up being the perfect length from my inner elbow to my middle finger tip.
I debarked them with a pocket knife and a chisel.
I wanted a glow in the dark blue star on it so I traced it on, then I erased
it because it wasn't perfect. then I wanted a swirl carved in it so I raped regular
clear tape around it and traced it with a pencil. And it went perfect and missed
where I wanted to put the star, then I carved it out with a chisel cutting my self in
the process close to my left thumb. So my blood went into making it. After it was
carved out and sanded I started out with drawing out the star. Then I carved it out
and how I got the star was I have glow in the dark crayons I have hade séance
I was a little kid. I shaved out some if it on a condiment container lid, then melted
it with stick lighter. I then mixed epoxy and more melted wax, I then used a tooth pic
to help put it into the carved out star. I continued melting the wax epoxy mixture and
shaped it with the tooth pic tell it was the shape I wanted it. Then after I let it set fore
some time I celled it with more epoxy.
Thin I knew it wasn't finished and it needed something else on it. So I
wanted to steampunk it up So I used the gears I have but I needed
to attach them some how then I remembered I had a peace of purple
ribbon in my purse. I celled the gears with polyurethane to protect them.
I put the ribbon where I wanted it tied it in a bow, the I sowed it with black
thread so the bow wouldn't come undone. Then I looped the ribbon around
the gears and sowed it with the same black thread, I haven't permanently
attached the bow to the wand yet so that is how it sits fore now.
Here is the stare glowing the box of crayons sais it glows yellow.
But I find it actually glows green. I had a heard time getting it
to glow to take the picture. So I used a black lite and that seemed
to get it to glow bright enough to take the picture. I call this wand
my star wand, so it is a steampunk star wand I like to call it.
Now my forth wand I took a small stick of the same tree, and I tried to glue
it on with hot glue but it kept on coming off. So as I made the leafs bigger
on the bottom and smaller on top going around the wand and the stick
like a stem on a flower. I also glued it on with hot glue and it was worse
with them falling off. The leafs are made out of polymer clay, And I didn't
have paint to put in the grooves of the leaf to make it stand out more. So I
found a ball point pen worked out in my favor. I took everything off and
the hot glue as well making sure the stick was dried out. I then glued it
on with after getting E6000 and the leafs, stick and rose never fell off
séance using E6000.
This is what the rose looks like and the smallest leaf, after
several months after the E6000 has set up. I plan on putting
polymer clay glaze on the rose and leafs to protect them
then celling the rest. I'm not sure what color I want the wand
or just leave its natural wood color. My mom made the red rose
because I wasn't sure how to make it and it was to big so I piled off
the outer layer before I baked the clay. The rose is scolpy brand red pearl
witch in the right lighting it sparkles. The leafs are the same brand the
color is leaf green. So theses are my real wands I made, not like those
cheep ones you get in a magic shop or the kids costume Harry Potter wand.
Theses are the real thing and made by me.
I hope you enjoyed and hade fun reading this post as much as I had
righting it, and making the wands. I encourage you to be creative
be your self what makes you happy, I wish you the best in your
journey of discovery of who you are.
